MindTree Participates in the 7th Annual Jersey Cares Day
17 volunteers from MindTree Join Hundreds to Support Newark Revitalization

Newark, New Jersey - The 7th Annual Jersey Cares Day on Saturday, the 14th of May this year witnessed the participation of 17 New Jersey MindTree minds. The minds and their families joined hands with a hundred other volunteers in the City of Newark for a day of care and community re-vitalization. Jersey Cares Day 2005 was a day of community service focusing on volunteer projects in the City of Newark as a part of the revitalization of the city. Projects included painting schools, revitalizing a children's community center and building a playground. |
Founded in 1993, Jersey Cares is a non-profit organization that provides meaningful volunteer opportunities at convenient times for individuals, community groups and corporation. It mobilizes individuals in Northern New Jersey to address critical community needs through volunteer action. The organization coordinates volunteers to participate in year-round community service projects including nurturing infants, feeding the homeless, revitalizing parks, caring for the elderly, raising cultural awareness and providing warm winter coats to those in need.
The Sussex School at Newark was the center of core activities for the MindTree team. The activities in the premises included painting murals on the walls of the school and gardening to enhance the beauty of the school campus. The remaining time permitted them to paint lines on the parking lot. The sincere effort of the team in this unique contribution was highly appreciated.
In addition, MindTree Consulting team won the prize for collecting the highest amount of donations as a team. These donations will be used for funding the activities of The Jersey Cares through out this year. . "Bringing together so many corporate teams and community groups is a unique and practical way to build a sense of community in Newark as well as have fun," said Jersey Cares Executive Director CJ Meenan. "We are grateful to have MindTree Consulting participating with us this year for the first time", he added.
