Integration

MindTree's System i group has integration expertise that spans several platforms, including System i (iSeries), NT, UNIX, SUN, Linux, and databases such as DB2, DB2/400, Oracle and SQL Server. We have executed several projects involving application integration, using products such as WebSphere MQ, LANSA Integrator and See Beyond. MindTree also has a separate Application integration group with extensive expertise in various integration tools and methodologies.

For System i we primarily use (but are not limited to) IBM WebSphere and LANSA products:

IBM's WebSphere MQ

MindTree offers training, consulting and application development on WebSphere MQ. It integrates over 35 platforms and provides base messaging functions for servers and clients, assuring 'once-only' message delivery. We have extensive experience in application integration using the MQ Series. MindTree has trained personnel in EAI integration areas using the MQ Series and MS MQ. Our skills include installation, configuration, and programming on these platforms.

LANSA Integrator

The LANSA Integrator enables integration of Application-to-Application (A2A) and Business-to-Business (B2B) transactions through XML and Java Services. It allows bi-directional XML - and other data formats - to be exchanged between you and your trading partners, regardless of what platforms they run on. LANSA Integrator also enables integration of user-written Java Services with LANSA, Report Program Generator (RPG), and COBOL applications. It hides the complexities of interfacing XML and Java technologies, allowing you to focus on business requirements.

Legacy to 3-Tier Conversions

MindTree has expertise converting legacy applications to 3-tier architecture, comprising mutually independent presentation, business, and database layers. The refurbishment architecture is ideally suited for gradual migration of applications to the Web. Our System i Group is primarily focused on the needs of manufacturing and distribution-oriented corporations, while also addressing banking, insurance, and other sectors.

Technology Migrations

MindTree has performed version migrations of applications and software from one database to another. In some instances, we have also migrated different technologies within the same platform. Our projects include Report Program Generator (RPG) II, III, and ILE, COBOL to RPG, and flat database structure to DB2/400.

Platform transformations

Our services have been engaged in several transformation efforts involving moving applications from one platform to another. Such transformations typically call for conversion of existing applications to work on different platforms and databases. MindTree has carried out platform transformations from mainframes to AS/400, and HP3000 to AS/400.
