S. Janakiraman President and CEO, R&D Services MindTree Ltd.

Janakiraman (Jani) heads MindTree’s R&D Services business which offers Product Realization Services to its customers. R&D Services provides product design services through its Engineering Practice and licensable technology building blocks through its Research Practice.

Starting from scratch, Jani has built the R&D Services organization to over 1500 technology professionals executing projects in leading technology areas for customers like Alcatel Lucent, Cisco, Symantec, Flir Systems, NXP Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Tilera, UTC, and Volvo. Product Realization is achieved through integration of Hardware Engineering, Systems and Applications software adhering to industry compliant protocol standards and SEI CMMi Level 5 processes.

Jani has rich experience in building R&D Services organizations through setting up multiple dedicated development centers for R&D divisions of IT equipment vendors, providing architecture, design and development and testing services in the emerging technology space.

Jani holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications from the Regional Engineering College, Trichy, India, and a Master's degree in Electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. He is the President of Indo Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (IJCCI), Karnataka and a member of the India Semiconductor Association (ISA) Executive Council.
