MindTree takes an unconventional, customer- and business-backwards approach to delivering IT solutions that address customers’ business problems. This has resulted in multi-dimensional growth; we currently address close to 20 technology domains, enjoy global presence in five continents, and have over 100 active customers.

Additionally, we created a unique business model called OneShore™, which blends on-site IT consulting capability with the distributed software delivery capability of offshore. At a time when the rest of the IT industry was dividing the business process between on-shore and offshore modalities, MindTree successfully combined the two to deliver solutions in an optimized, globally distributed manner.

MindTree also makes substantial investments in Research and Development through innovative programs called MindTree Incubated New Technologies (MINT) and MindTree Incubated Showcase Technologies (MIST). Through these programs, MindTree has created ahead-of-the-curve, patented Intellectual Property in the form of licensable technology building blocks. By focusing on research, we explore new technologies and build competencies in advance, significantly reducing our customers’ time-to-market cycles. We have successfully used this strategy to penetrate new markets, acquire new customers, and add value.

Further, by having two businesses (R&D Services and IT Services), we are well positioned to help customers define, build and capture markets that are defined by the convergence of business and technology in these two areas.  We also help our customer innovate faster by using systematic innovation techniques.
